Teresa Machado Plaza

Client: City of santa maria, CA

BMLA collaborated with the city of Santa Maria to transform an existing parking lot into Machado Plaza, designed primarily to host city events and concerts. The main plaza features permeable pavers and is equipped to accommodate food trucks, farmers markets, and various other events. For added enjoyment, a set of musical instruments has been installed in one of the medium-sized gathering areas for children. Additionally, a pair of precast concrete ping pong tables are positioned near plaza-style seating for extra entertainment. The centerpiece of the plaza is the main stage, complemented by a mural backdrop created by local artist Aaron Cribbs.
